Cheryl MacDonald is a Yoga Elder, author of the best-selling Birth ROCKS, a successful and ethical business woman (take a peek at Cheryl on Dragons’ Den or on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ with Holly Willoughby), and most importantly, mother of one gorgeous little man. She has been working with pregnant and birthing women for the past ten years (including Birth ROCKS sessions with celebrities such as Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud) and has trained extensively in antenatal education, birth hypnosis and perinatal yoga, amongst other holistic therapies. Her skills and experience combined with her love of all things pregnancy, birth and baby and the belief that every woman is entitled to a positive birth experience, are the essence of Birth ROCKS Academy®.
Cheryl is a certified HypnoBirthing and Childbirth Birth Educator (HBCE) with HypnoBirthing (The Mongan Method) and has written the Birth ROCKS natural childbirth education programme. Cheryl has trained natural birth educators in the Birth ROCKS programme across Europe. Cheryl has also undertaken training with Pam England (author of ‘Birthing from Within’) on leading Birth Art sessions as a pre and post natal aid for mothers in preparing for and in reconciling any issues they may have surrounding birth.
Cheryl is also the founder of IAPP and completed extensive pre and post natal training in yoga, baby massage, birth hypnosis and antenatal education. She gave birth to her first child in October 2009 and made use of the techniques she teaches to ensure that she had a beautiful, drug free birth that actively involved her husband and baby.
In a past life, Cheryl also worked as a Marketing Manager and Business Analyst and holds an honours degree in International Business and Modern Languages, specializing in Marketing. This comes in handy when helping everyone set up and run their birthing business!
Nicola Bradley RGNM Adult Nursing (BN) Midwifery Studies (PgD)
Nicola is a midwife, nurse and mum to three young children and is a true advocate of informed choice. She has experienced all aspects of birthing in hospital and home and believes that women and their birth partners should have the knowledge and information to facilitate empowered choices surrounding childbirth.
Nicola in her early 20s was a fitness instructor and progressed naturally to nursing and midwifery and practises as both in Glasgow. Skills gained in these areas have been applied to facilitate BRA training courses including Birth ROCKS and baby massage. Nicola is also creator of the Baby ROCKS parent craft course. Along with her professional qualifications she is also a qualified aquanatal instructor and certified HypnoBirthing practitioner.
